The Genealogical Gazetteer of Galica does not contain...
   - surnames, or information about specific families. These types of book are called Genealogies or Family Histories, not Gazetteers.
   - photographs from each community. Such a work for the 6,300 communities (villages, estates, towns, and cities) in Galicia would resemble encyclopedia, filling many volumes.
   - “all available information” about your community. Such a work would likely be several volumes in size even for a single small village. However, sources used in compiling this gazetteer do provide supplemental information about communities and parishes. See Sources.
   - detailed maps that show detail such as houses, yards, and field plots for every community. These types of maps are called Cadastral Maps and can only be obtained from archives and other institutions in Europe. Several excellent articles have been written on this topic.
